Biography - John Glass

As Vice President of Business Development and co-founder, Taqua Systems, Inc., Mr. John E. Glass initiated and led the development of Taqua System's key strategic partnerships with Original Equipment Manufacturers, channel distributors, and integrators. In addition to developing business initiatives to penetrate new domestic and international markets, John is responsible for facilitating the introduction of complementary technical partners into Taqua's suite of product and market solutions. John brings to Taqua more than 25 years of marketing, sales, and executive management experience in the telecommunications industry.

While at General Instrument (now Motorola Broadband) and Tektronix John directed broadband video and voice switching systems for telephony applications and developed early telephony and video partnerships with IP Switch Inc. and Cisco. During that time, John managed the development of numerous projects including first generation cable modems, HDTV, and various multimedia applications associated with voice, video and data.

Previously, John held various senior marketing positions with GTE Communications Systems. He also, oversaw substantial growth and established a successful sales record as National Sales Director with Siemens Communication Systems.

Most recently, John led the initial hardware development for Taqua in California, and served as the General Manager of Richardson, Texas Operations. In this role, John oversaw the significant growth of the company as it increased five-fold in personnel and expanded beyond its original facilities.

In addition to speaking to numerous civic and professional industry associations, John sits on the California Industry Council for Technology in Learning and the Board of Advisors to the United States Distance Learning Association, and is a Colonel in the U.S. Air Force Reserve.

John holds an MBA from Western New England College and a Bachelor's degree from Washington State University where he studied economics.
