Biography - Barry Soloway

Barry H. Soloway is founder of Management Pragmatics LLC through which he serves as Interim COO for high tech startups and turnarounds. He is an accomplished high tech industry executive, whose career spans telecom equipment and semiconductors, with recent focus on optical networking subsystems, and Internet commerce.

Barry’s forte is transforming entrepreneurial organizations into viable commercial enterprises through the exercise of three pragmatic disciplines: market focus, accountability and sense-of-urgency. With a hands-on management style, he coaches and directs the transformation to systematically reduce technology risk, quickly launch the company into its most attractive markets and credibly build shareholder value.

But actions speak louder than words. During the past 11 years, he has made significant contributions to seven startups and turnarounds. Highlights include Novalux (semiconductor laser diodes), Glimmerglass Networks (MEMS-based, all-optical switch fabric) and Sourcemine (Internet-based collaboration). Previously, he served as Senior VP Operations & Development – TimePlex Group (enterprise network equipment), and Division General Manager – ITT Advanced Technology Center.

Barry earned an MSEE from New York University.
