Biography - John Matze

 

John Matze has over 20 years experience in storage and networking technology including a patented revolutionary high-speed disaster recovery product for Microsoft NT and Novell NetWare. John received a patent #5,907,672 for the Stac Replica technology and numerous awards including;

-PC Week Labs, Analyst Choice 1996 and 1997
-PC Week ITX Award 1996
-LAN Magazine Product of the year 1996
-Data Communications Magazine 1996

John Matze joined Overland Storage as Vice President and Chief Technology Officer in June 2003. Overland acquired Okapi Software, Inc., a storage software company, where Mr. Matze served as a co-founder, President and Chief Executive Officer since February 2002. John has been actively involved as a co-architect of the now-ratified iSCSI protocol since its inception. In July 1998, Mr. Matze joined Seagate Software, Inc. , a storage software company, as a Director for NAS/SAN Technology until the company was merged into VERITAS Software Corporation, a storage software company. At VERITAS Mr. Matze served as a Director in the Software Appliance Group. John was also the Author of Replica a server disaster recovery program that was distributed by STAC in 1995. John holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Science from San Diego State University.
